It’s your big chance to make your mark on Wyoming!

The city has announced an open design contest for a new performance pavilion on the Village Green that will enhance events and programming.  Artists, designers, architects, and visionaries are invited to submit their ideas for consideration. The winning design could become a fixture of Wyoming’s cultural scene.

“We want to make the most of our Village Green,” says City Manager Lynn Tetley. “With so many events taking place there, a permanent stage will be a focal point of the community.”

To enter, you must submit a rendering and narrative of your vision, which must include a 16’x24’ raised stage, a ramp for equipment loading, room for sound equipment, and permanent sponsor advertising space. Other than that, the sky’s the limit! Once a concept is chosen and approved by the City Council, the design will be refined and converted into construction plans with the help of the city’s Architectural Review Board. The name of the winning designer will be featured on the pavilion itself and on all pavilion signage, and will be included on the city website and all social media and print publications regarding the project. Submissions should be sent to Lynn Tetley, ltetley@wyomingohio.gov, no later than July 31, 2019.

But suppose you want to be part of this project, and you don’t have the time, skills, or ideas to enter the contest? There are also sponsorship opportunities available at all levels to help make the project a reality, from a brick etched with your name to pride of place on the pavilion signage. Any and all contributions are welcome.

Full details regarding the contest and sponsorships can be found on the City of Wyoming website.
