Wyoming High School was once again ranked No. 2 among high schools in Ohio by U.S. News & World Report in its 2019 ratings of the top high schools in the country. It was ranked No. 74 nationally. Schools were rated based on college readiness, college curriculum breadth, math and reading proficiency, math and reading performance, under-served student performance, and graduation rates.

New this year, U.S. News ranked 17,245 schools out of more than 23,000 in 50 states, up from 2,700 schools last year. This represented a change in methodology over previous years.

According to an announcement about the rankings: “The highest-ranked schools are those whose students excelled on state tests and performed beyond expectations; participated in and passed a variety of college-level exams; and graduated in high proportions. U.S. News assigned numerical ranks to schools performing in the top 75%. Schools performing below the 25th percentile are listed alphabetically with a ranking range.”

Wyoming City School District is regularly recognized at the state and national level for academic excellence, including rankings in US News & World Report and The Washington Post.
