Wyoming Community in Action (WCIA), a group of citizens dedicated to making Wyoming a more equitable and welcoming community for all, is actively planning their 4th Annual Juneteenth Celebration. Right now, the organization is looking for volunteers to help make the event happen.

The 2023 WCIA Juneteenth Celebration will take place on Friday, June 16 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Wyoming Civic Center and will feature music, food, games, local vendors, crafts for kids, and family fun.

WCIA needs volunteers to help with safety, marketing and communications, youth programming, and recruiting vendors. Those interested can sign up here.

“We love seeing our community connected and engaged with one another to celebrate this momentous occasion,” said WCIA member Denise Harrison. “There is so much joy, love, and warmth that flows behind it, pulling in so many people from our city.

“Bring the family. We have something for everyone, from books, painting, and games for kids to shopping, food, and entertainment for adults. Every year gets bigger and bigger. Best of all, we provide a platform for some of the most incredible black artists and business owners from in and around Wyoming to shine!”
