Wyoming Fine Arts CenterEvent on Saturday, February 12

The Fine Arts Center will celebrate Black History Month through its Loving Wyoming Art Program on Saturday, February 12, from 1–3 p.m. Participants will learn about Beauford Delaney, an artist who lived and worked during the Harlem Renaissance.

This Loving Wyoming Art Program, which is free, will honor the life and work of Delaney, who was known for creating many incredible expressionist paintings. Students will create their own expressionist self-portraits, painting them digitally with iPads that were funded through a JWC grant. They’ll be able to incorporate photographs of their own faces into their artwork. The Center will also celebrate several artists, dancers, and musicians throughout the month in social media posts and draw inspiration from black artists during their regular Art Studio classes.
